Where are you located?
Catherine George Cakes operates from TasteLab, a licensed commercial kitchen in Washington, D.C. The kitchen is not open to the public. I arrange tasting and consultation meetings in beautiful Breather meeting rooms downtown or at mutually agreeable locations.
How do I make an appointment for a consultation?
Send an email (firstname.lastname@example.org), call (202-656-8640) or use the online form to schedule a tasting. It is helpful to know the date of your event, the venue and the guest count (or a current estimate). At your tasting appointment for up to four people, we will discuss your cake design and flavor choices. After the tasting, you will receive a full color sketch of your cake and a proposal. The $40 tasting fee is credited to orders booked within two weeks.
How are your cakes priced?
Tiered cakes begin at six dollars per serving. More complicated designs may exceed ten dollars per serving. Variation in the price per serving is driven by the time required to execute the design. Delivery fees are based on distance. Cake stands may be borrowed for $25 which includes return shipping via a provided box.
Can I order desserts in addition to cake?
Yes! Cookies, brownies, macarons and other desserts are available to complement your cake.
